I am at WAR
I am at WAR!!! Their numbers are far greater than mine. They are resilent and multiply at an exponential rate, but I will prevail.
So, at the end of a nice little vacation for Thanksgiving (more on that later), I get a call from my roommate about a flea infestation at our apartment. Are you kidding me? Now, being a first time dog owner, I was new to the idea of fleas. I’ve obviously never had to worry about them before. So, a couple weeks ago - before the week of Thanksgiving - we started noticing bugs on our dog. He’s been a little too young thus far for Frontline or Advantix - granted he’s not anymore and believe me - he’s on Advantix now! Bottomeline, I obviously didn’t know what I was doing prior to going on my trip, and now I’m paying for it.
Anyways, fleas are a royal pain in the butt. It’s like lice for humans. It takes something along the lines of three weeks to get rid of them because you don’t only have to take care of the ones that are alive, but you have to kill off the eggs. So there is this constant mantainence that needs to be done for something like 3 weeks, on both the dog and the house/apartment. It’s ridiculous.
So from now until I leave to go home for Christmas, I am vacuuming and spraying the apartment and inspecting my poor dog…EVERYDAY!!! Let me tell you…fun stuff. NOT!! I hope we are able to rid him and the apartment of them before Christmas. I don’t want to have to deal with another flea infestation when I get back home.
