Dominance War IV
The two heroes in the third Great War for Dominance foresaw what would happen if Machines were allowed to continue their hostilities, but it was too late. 5 year’s after their sacrifice to end Machines’ disruptive means for war with unstable dimensional travel, the sinister threat they foretold, emerged!
…Reality collapsed.
Everywhere, dimensional tears opened to hellish realms and everywhere, nightmares emerged! In the first wave alone, Machines were struck down with such ferocity that for the first time in any war, Machines had to take a more conservative stance. Norms were clearly outnumbered on all fronts and had to withdraw to their great magically protected cities. It was a new era and everyone soon began to realize, including Machines, that it might very well be the beginning of the end in a new chapter of the Epic Dominance War Series: The Rise of Demons!
But there is still hope. The tears in reality are not normal. Something is keeping the dimensions destabilized. Both machines and norms have the mystical power or technology to correct the crisis, unfortunately, to find the source of the problem and to revert everything back to normal requires a luxury neither Norms nor Machines have… time. With death beating down on their walls, and darkness looming around every bend, the missions are as follows: (read more)
So, my brother is going to be participating in the Dominance War Contest this year. It’s pretty awesome. If you click the “read more” link above it will give you all the rules and details to the competition. It’s really pretty exciting, and I’m stoked Matt is competing. If you want to follow his progress, you can do it here. Tear it up Matt!!!
Border Collies are AWESOME!!
Now, maybe one day I’ll get Drake to do this stuff and be the next “Lassie” as Simon puts it. But until then, check out Gin the dancing Border Collie!!!
Stewart vs Kramer
I have to say, Jon Stewart is the MAN!! An unfortunate Jim Kramer is put to the test when Stewart confronts him about his show, the role of his show, the state of the economy and how the economy go to where it’s at today. Enjoy!!

What’s in the Box?
I came across this “viral video” - if that’s what you want to call it - the other day. Really cool, and done very well. Check it out.
“This 9-minute first-person short film has appeared on YouTube this week and is beginning to gain some traction in the Alternative Reality Game world. What we do know is this: The short was shot in the Netherlands, Nijmegen to be exact, using a bunch of assets taken directly from Half-Life, and music from the television show Lost. The YouTube page says that “This is a early temp version. Will be deleted soon” and the video’s title is What’s in the Box? - Test Film 2009.” The informational sidebar also provides the following url: www.whatsinthebox.nl. When you go to the site, you will find a box with a blinking question mark which sporadically glows red. Many people think it’s the start of a viral. Some have even suggested it is for Half-Life 3… but I think it might actually just be a very well put together special effects demo. Either way, it seems to me that whomever created this, put a lot of time and effort into it.”
Space Shuttle Launch

So, last night I went and saw the Space Shuttle launch. I have to say, I’ve seen plenty of launches since I’ve been in Orlando now for 10 years or so, but this is the first time I’ve ever gone out to the coast and watched it from there. Let me tell you, it is definitely a sight to see.
To start, I didn’t see the launch from Kennedy Space Center property - I was just north of the Cocoa Beach Pier. But I could see KSC from the beach so no loss there. Unfortunately, the launch pad was set behind a hotel, but when the shuttle took off, it was like a sunrise behind the hotel - incredible. Now, it wasn’t quite a night launch, though, it was dark by the time you couldn’t see the shuttle anymore in the sky, but when the shuttle was high enough to have it’s exhaust smoke shine brilliant in the setting sunset - WOW - it’s hard for words to describe. I was so glad that I had gone out for the launch.
All in all, it was a great day for the most part. Sent about 9 hours at the beach. Started the day out there around 10 am, and stayed there until the 7:43 pm launch time. It was definitely a long day. The only real downside, ignoring the fact that I’m a lobster right now, was that it took almost 4 hours to get home - when under normal circumstances it is only suppose to take 40 minutes. Traffic was ridiculous, and it went all the way back to Orlando without letting up. Had to have been the worst traffic jam I’ve ever been in. This is also taking into account that we were able to bypass probably half of it.
MegaCon 2009
This past weekend I went to MegaCon for the first time. I was not alone. Ashley and my brother came with, as well as, some other friends. I have to say, it was an interesting experience, but a fun one too. I also surprised myself by managing not to buy anything.
To begin with, MegaCon is a Comic/Anime convention similar to WonderCon and the increasingly famous ComicCon in San Diego. Artists and editors from all over the industry get together and have panel discussions and showcase their work. You can buy original art or even comission an artist to do a personal painting for you. There were also a number of booths selling replica swords, comics, toys and figures, models, costumes, cards, etc. If you label it “geeky” or “nerdy” chances are it was there. There were also “Battlebot” contests (which I didn’t get around to seeing, sadly) and media guests. Margot Kidder, who played Lois Lane in the original Superman movies, Lou Ferrigno, who played the Hulk on the television series, Philp Morris, who plays on Martian Manhunter on Smallville (and also, I come to find, owns over 100,000 comics - ridiculous), and Tricia Helfer, who plays Carla on Burn Notice and is also a cylon on Battlestar Galactica were there…just to name a few.
We sat in a few panel discussions. One was on how to pitch a comic book and the other talked about the increasing trend of making comic books into movies. Both, to me at least, were informative and entertaining. The pitching of the comic book panel was useful and told Matt and I that we have a lot of work cut out for us…and that the stars are going to have to align for it to probably get published. But you never know. With God on your side, anything is possible. The second panel was interesting because we were able to hear from writers themselves how they felt about their work being adapted to the screen. Good experiences and bad…and also about the process.
Lastly, I would like to talk about the costumes. Wow!! I knew that people dressed up for these things, but I was totally not prepared for the amount of people I saw in costumes. To say we were in the minority, by NOT dressing up, would seem like an understatment. But I do have to say, some people really did an amazing job on their costumes and should be commended. But, it was definitely like being on a nother planet. Good times.
