Upgrade and New Plugin - READ
So, I must apologize for the lack of posts lately…at least posts of substance. The new house has been monopolizing all my time, and when I’m not working on the house, I just want to sleep. Things are starting to come together, though, so I should be able to start getting some posts in. I have a huge backlog right now of things I want to touch on and right about.
First things first however. I finally got around to upgrading WordPress to Ver. 2.7. I realize that 2.8 is probably already on it’s way, but, given the pain it was to get the blog up and running to begin with, I wasn’t exactly anxious to mess anything up. I am happy to say that the upgrade went through without much of a problem and things seems to be working just fine.
Secondly, my good friend Zeus was nice enough to let me know of a plugin (Akismet) that is suppose to help with all the SPAM comments. So, I went ahead and installed the plugin and changed some settings and now you will no longer be required to register in order to make a comment. Hopefully the plugin works. It would things easier on everyone.
Registration Required
Unfortunately, do the increasing number of SPAM if getting getting, I’ve decided to require all users who wish to make comments to register (one time) and log-in before being allowed to make comments. I realize that this is somewhat of a hassle, but deleting 250 SPAM comments from both my blog dashboard and my email inbox every day is simply ridiculous. I’ve been doing it for over a month now and enough is enough. I am hoping that this will fix the issue.
Please let me know if there are any problems.
