Quantum of Solace

Quantum of Solace is the latest 007 movie.  Following the betrayal and death of Vesper Lynd, James Bond (Daniel Craig) makes his next mission personal. The hunt for those who blackmailed his lover leads Bond to ruthless businessman Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric), a key player in the organization which coerced Vesper. Bond learns that Greene is plotting to gain total control of a vital natural resource, and must navigate a minefield of danger and treachery to foil Greene’s plan.

As soon as you start watching the movie…it’s over, and sadly, that’s the good news.  I cannot complain that this action movie keeps you entertained.  You are definitely on scensory overload.  However, this is all the movie has going for it.  There’s next to no plot - and plot holes, horrible editing and camera angles, and nothing that really resembles a James Bond we have seen before.

I’ve decided not to ramble on and on about my issues with the movie.  I’ve decided to save time and just point you - the reader - to Garth Franklin’s review.  Surprisingly we tend to view movies in the same way, and honestly, why reinvent the wheel when he’s already written everything I would write here.

I completely agree with you. They also never fully explained things like “I told you everything I know about Quantum…” I want to know. The action was really Bourne like which I didn’t like…they are two different spies, don’t make them exactly the same. I mean some Bourne is nice and all but not all of it. The beginning car chase ended really abruptly too…he had a gun the whole time T_T
Like the action was cool and stuff, but it still isn’t Bond and not much happened, I mean, when you think about it, Mr. White is still alive…
I don’t know, the art behind it was cool, like the parallels between the horse race and the chase as well as the opera and the discussion, but overall unneeded in a Bond film. My favorite part was when he shot the Colonel “We share a common friend” (or whatever he says..was really cool.)
I also liked how the girl was covered in “black gold” but he still hasn’t said his lines and that gun barrel type scene was done at the end. I don’t know, the film definitely wasn’t what I had hoped for.
